As a part of the large-scale campaign titled "Zero Tolerance to Disorder and Offenses", raids are carried out on the roads of the capital during the period from September 25 to September 27, as informed by the media center of the capital’s Mayor’s Office.
The main objective of the raids is intensifying preventive activities to reduce the rate of accidents and to prevent traffic accidents involving pedestrians.
"In order to increase the level of traffic safety for pedestrians and prevent road accidents that involve them, the Local Police Service of Astana DIA carries out preventive activities on an ongoing basis. Since the beginning of the year, over 12 thousand pedestrians have been brought to administrative responsibility for violation of traffic requirements", – the inspector of service of the Road Patrol Police Regiment of Astana DIA LPS Astemir Bektayev reported.
It should be reminded that traffic rules violations committed by pedestrians lead to penalties imposed at a rate of five monthly calculation indices, or 11 thousand 345 tenge. Since January of the current year, more than 200 road accidents involving pedestrians, including 64 involving minors, have been registered.
