Residents of the capital are urged to abandon plastic bags
According to the official website of the
capital akimat, today was held an environmental campaign " Protect the
planet-give up polyethylene!" in large retail chains.
Hypermarkets "Galmart", "Kenmart", "Alma" and "Small" within the environmental action are planning to implement free 50 thousand biodegradable packages.
The project was organized by the capital's department of environmental protection and environmental management with the support of LLP "Eurasian Group" and LLP "ECO products Group".
"Our company is the first domestic manufacturer of biodegradable 100 percent vegetable raw materials bags. The main difference from the usual packages is that our packages decompose much earlier than usual. These bags are made of organic raw materials, the basis includes cornstarch. Packages decompose after a while and turn into fertilizer. This is an absolute solution to environmental problems in contrast to the harmful plastic, which is now produced all over the world", – said the director of "ECO products Group" Valikhan Dzhumanov.
According to him, the biological package is a great alternative to polyethylene as the outer and the performance is identical. They can also be applied to print tests and images, produce any color and size of them. Typical variations of packets is the same as the polyethylene.
They can be purchased in "Galmart", "Kenmart" and "Alma"stores in Astana.
In the future, it is planned to implement packages in all major supermarkets of the city. The average price of one package is 25 tenge.
Every resident of the city can support the project. For this purpose, it is necessary to make a choice in favor of eco-packages when buying.
