More than 4 thousand people will take part in the international marathon on Sunday
On September 16, Astana will host the annual international marathon Astana Marathon-2018. To participate in the race have already registered over four thousand people from Kazakhstan and twenty foreign countries: Germany, Russia, Japan, Italy, Uzbekistan, UAE, Sweden, South Korea, UK, USA, Kyrgyzstan, France, Turkey, Australia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Georgia, Luxembourg and Spain.
In total, the organizers expect 5 thousand participants, including 320 foreign athletes. The marathon route is certified by the IAAF (international Association of athletics federations). The participants of the Astana Marathon-2018 proposed distance of 42.2 km and 10 km marathon 42.2 km can participate persons aged 18 years and older, but at a distance of 10 km will be able to run and 16 year old athletes. All proceeds, according to tradition, will be directed to charity. The marathon will be held on Sunday, September 16, from 07:00 to 13: 00. The gathering point: St. Ryskulov HS. Ul. It is worth noting that this year Astana Marathon entered the Association of international marathons and runs (AIMS), the running marathon in Astana claims to receive an honorary bronze Label certificate from the International athletics Federation (IAAF).
Many foreign athletes choose Astana Marathon due to the fact that the flat terrain and climate allow runners to easily overcome the distance and break world records. Thus, this year a record number of elite runners from Ethiopia, Kenya, Eritrea and Uganda are expected to participate in the race.
We will remind, last year Astana Marathon gathered more than 5 thousand participants from 16 to 80 years from 22 cities of Kazakhstan and 19 foreign countries. Astana Marathon 2017 was different from the previous ones due to the participation of long-distance athletes from Kenya Simon Kiprugut Kirui (Simon Kiprugut Kirui) and Henry Kipsang (Henry Kipsang), consistently showing good results at the marathon distance. Charity races, which gave rise to Astana Marathon, have been held since 2009. During this time, Kazakhstan's charitable organizations received more than 36 million tenge, which was gained during the competition.
