Correspondent of the official website of the capital akimat talked with the Deputy Director of the school-Lyceum №76 Ernur Omarkhanov on how children are taught the new alphabet.

Secondary schools № 67, 68, 40, 76 and 77 since the beginning of the school year teach new alphabet at the lessons of the Kazakh language. Experimental introduction of Latin is carried out in 4, 9, 10, 11 classes.

«National scientific-practical center «Til-Kazyna» the name of Simultane Shayakhmetova sent two teachers, and they spent several weeks teaching our 11th graders to the new Kazakh alphabet on Latin script. We also invited a specialist for our teachers, and all the teachers took courses in Latin. Basically, the testing of Latin graphics takes place in 4, 9, 10, 11 classes. But specialists from the National academic library came to us, and within a few days they taught students of all classes new graphics of the Kazakh alphabet», – says E. Omarkhanov.

Currently, the Lyceum is equipped with a specialized office, where students learn latin. The library has stands dedicated to the new alphabet.

Teachers of the Kazakh language regulate the combination of the usual educational process for children with innovations. At the end of the lesson of the Kazakh language students write a small dictation in latin, high school students – essay.

Since the release of the first textbooks in the new alphabet is planned for 2020, the leadership of lyceums and gymnasiums of Astana are developing a plan and handouts for schoolchildren.
