From now on, it is possible to receive state services by fingerprint
According to the official website of capital akimat, from December 12, several PSC in Astana and Almaty are switching to a new digital format of work.
Electronic digital signature (EDS) – yesterday, instead of the path to public services open biometric data. Information about this appeared on the page of the state program "Digital Kazakhstan" in Facebook.
"The most important factor for the provision of public services is to identify its recipient. So far, this has been done with the help of identity cards (in person), as well as with the help of EDS (remotely). But in the near future it will be possible to receive services through a fingerprint or facial scan", - Digital Kazakhstan reports.
The following are five advantages of such a system: safe and fast receipt of services, without unnecessary steps of authorization and documents; biometric data can not be forged; a more convenient way than the annual update of EDS; almost all services can be obtained through a smartphone, which already has built-in features such as Face ID, fingerprint scanner; it is necessary to hand over biometric data only once. They will not depend on the change of name, registration data or changes in appearance.
Since December 12, this method of obtaining services is available in three Centers of Astana and two Centers of Almaty. Starting next year, the biometric system is planned to be established throughout the country. In parallel with the PSCs, it will be implemented on the portal egov.kz ahhh!
For authorization, you can use the camera of your smartphone or buy a mini fingerprint scanner for your computer. The device will cost about 1 thousand tenge.
But before you get the service in a new format, you need to enter your biometric data into the database.
To do this, the developers explain, you will need to come to the PSC together with an identity card. With the help of a special tablet, the employee considers the data from the identity card. You will be re-photographed and fingerprinted. This data will be used to identify you when you log in to the egov portal.
No electronic digital signature is required to collect biodata. Instead, you will be asked to sign an electronic agreement that you are not against the use of your data for various public services.
The first time the new system will be available 42 popular services: address information, police clearance certificate, certificate of presence or absence of real estate and others. More services will be gradually introduced, including for legal entities.
