Bakhyt Sultanov:" Our goal is to transform Astana into a global city"
According to the official website of capital akimat, Astana Akim Bakhyt Sultanov met with the deputies of maslikhat. During the meeting, the results of the outgoing year were summed up and plans for the future were outlined.
In his speech Bakhyt Sultanov said that the whole work of the structural subdivisions of akimat adjusted according to the Messages of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. A. Nazarbayev "New development opportunities in the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution" and "growth of welfare of Kazakhstan citizens: increase of income and quality of life", as well as the program "Five social initiatives of the President" and the program article "Seven faces of the great steppe".
"This year a lot of work has been done in the city. For Astana, it was favorable in all respects. This is evidenced by the fairly high economic indicators with which we are completing 2018. The volume of gross regional product, according to forecast estimates, will be 6 trillion tenge. Industrial enterprises of the city produced products and provided services worth more than 544 billion tenge, and thus recorded a positive shift at plus 9.6% compared to last year", - the mayor of the city said.
The volume of production in the manufacturing industry increased by 12.6% compared to 2017. The total volume of cargo transportation in the current year increased by 9%. The volume of retail trade amounted to more than 1 trillion tenge and increased by 6% compared to 2017. The state budget collected tax revenues in the amount of 981.9 billion tenge, which is 13.9% higher than in 2017. These indicators, according to Bakhyt Sultanov, are formed by small and medium-sized businesses, whose share in the structure of the gross regional product was 55%.
"On behalf of the Head of state, we have started a very important project for us – to develop a long-term Strategy for the development of Astana until 2050. Our goal is to transform Astana into a global city, which will become the main center of attraction for creative people, talents, young people, as well as tourists and foreign investors. To do this, it is necessary to use modern urban solutions, new approaches to urban planning, focused on polycentricity. In short, we need to create a comfortable environment for residents and guests of the capital, including special attention to the creation of a barrier – free environment for people with disabilities", - the mayor said.
The mayor thanked the deputies for the productive and efficient joint work and congratulated them on the coming New year.
