What Places to Attend During the Weekends in the Capital City?
Every day in Nur-Sultan different kinds of events take place. During the coming weekends, guests and the residents of the capital city can attend the historical fair, classic music nights, concert and entertaining programs and can join the participants of “Astana Marathon 2019” International Marathon, the official website of the mayor’s office reports.
A historical-documentary exposition “Year of 1939. The Beginning of the World War II” is opened at the National Military-Patriotic Center of Military Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The exposition is arranged by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan and by the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Nur-Sultan. Visitors can see the copies of the archive documents and photos that led to the beginning of the World War II and the reasons of the failure in formation of the expanded anti-Hitler Coalition with the USSR participation at the dawn of the war and others. The exposition covers the period of the Munich Conspiracy of September 29, 1938 till the period of World Political Crisis deepening and the expansion of Poland by Germany on September 1, 1939. The exposition will last till September 30 from 11:00 AM till 8:00 PM. The entrance is free.
For the first time, on September 7 Temirzhan Yerzhanov, an American conductor and pianist, Honored Actor of the Republic of Kazakhstan will hold a solo piano concert in Chamber Hall of Astana Opera. The program includes the following: “Fantasy” by V.A. Mozart, “Carnival” by R. Schumann, “From the Holberg Times” by E. Grieg and “Ballad # 4” of F. Chopin. The concert commencement is at 6:00 PM. The prices of tickets are from 500 tenge and above.
A day later, Zhannat Baktai, a leading soloist of Astana Opera, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, Holder of “Parasat” Medal is holding her concert.
The visitors will listen to Kazakh folk songs and the masterpieces of Opera Classics: arias, duets, trios and scenes from operas and operettas by J. Rossini, J. Offenbach, J. Massenet, I. Strauss, F. Legar, E. Kurtis, compositions by K. Jenkins, A.Abdinurova and others. Yaroslav Abaimov, Soloist of Moscow Novaya Opera, Medet Chotabaev, Sundet Baygozhin and Azamat Zheltarguzov, Honored Actors of Kazakhstan will also take the stage.
The soloists performances will be accompanied by the Astana Opera choir and symphony orchestra. The conductors are Kazakhstani distinguished personalities: Temirzhan Yerzhanov and Abzal Mukhitdinov. The concert will be held on September 8 at 6.00 PM at Astana Opera, the minimum ticket price is 500 tenge.
The same day the traditional "Open Day" event will be held on “Zhastar Palace” summer stage. The concert and entertainment program will include the art groups performances of “Peer” Folk Pop Dance Ensemble, “Sunday” Dance and Sports Club, “AstCityBallet” Modern Ballet School, “Rainbow” Pop Dance Studio, “Vremya” Dance Theater, “Vremya” M-Art ” Theater Studio, “Jas-Art” Pop Vocal Theater, students of Fine Art Studio Workshop, Original Genre School, “Sound Gold” Modern Day Vocal Studio, etc. During the mentioned event, it will be possible to register children for free for any section of Zhastar Palace. “Open Day” Event will be held on September 8 at 1:00 PM.
The possible most anticipated sporting event of the present week is the upcoming “Astana Marathon 2019” International Marathon. The arranging committee prepared two distances: 42.2 km (the participation is possible from 18 years old) and 10 km (from 16 years old). The marathon starts at 7:00 AM and ends at 1:00 PM. The marathon start/finish lines are located in the opposite side of EXPO Complex at the intersection of Ryskulov and Turkistan 2 Streets, the parking lot is “P-5”. The route is designed with the intention to show all the main sights of the city: the Peace and Concord Palace, the Hazret Sultan Mosque, the Baiterek, the Nazarbayev University and the Astana Arena.
At every 5-kilometer guide mark, the organizers will be distributing water and bananas. An isotonic drink will be provided for the 42.2 km marathon runners.
This is to notify that medical or participation certificates are not required for taking part in “Astana Marathon 2019”.
