Nur-Sultan mayor reports on allocation of optimized funds
The spending optimization of the city hall’s budget will amount to KZT 35 billion. The authorities have optimized KZT 28 billion and plan for KZT 7-billion additional cost reduction, as mayor Altay Kulginov reported at the city legislature regular session.
“Following the President’s directive, unproductive spending has been cut in public and quasi-state sectors. We have forwarded the funds released to finance social needs. For instance, over KZT 16 billion tenges were allocated to support real economy and infrastructure. The money will be used to demolish failing buildings, construct roads, yards and utilities infrastructure, and subsidize public transport, etc. Education, public health and social welfare systems are to receive KZT 7 billion. That will ensure additional places in childcare establishments, procurement of medical equipment and increased benefits for vulnerable groups. Aid to small and medium businesses will amount to over 5 billion tenges for subsidizing interest rates and capping prices for essential products. The total optimized budget funds are to reach KZT 35 billion,” akim Kulginov reported.
