12 schools to be built in Nur-Sultan in 2020
Altay Kulginov visited several school construction sites during his morning tour today, official akimat site reports.
“The city population growth pressures the community facilities including secondary schools and pre-schools. We will double the number of built and commissioned schools against last year, which is 12 schools for 20 thousand students (our ambition for 2021 is 40 thousand student slots). First of all, we build schools where they are most needed to solve the problem of three-shift and overcrowded schools,” Altay Kulginov wrote on his Instagram profile.
According to mayor Kulginov, private investors are engaged in educational institutions construction. The Investment Council supported 24 educational facilities construction projects, and six of them are already under implementation.
“During my today’s morning tour, I visited several construction sites of secondary schools with pre-schools (Omarov Street and Е312, Uly Dala Ave.) that are funded by private investors. We enable investors as they create new jobs along with seizing market opportunities and exercising social responsibility,” Kulginov noted.
The Comprehensive 5-Year Plan covers construction of approximately 50 public schools including 10 new schools on the existing sites for 60 thousand slots in two shifts. That will create about 120 thousand student slots.
“Developers need to follow and promote the Economy of Simple Things program complying with sanitary norms at construction sites and ensuring timely urban landscaping,” Kulginov emphasized.
