Athletic facilities under maintenance in the capital
Athletic venues are under construction, repair and revamping in Nur-Sultan, the city hall reports via its official site.
The Department of Fitness and Sports of Nur-Sultan told about the facilities under maintenance and the dynamic trend of athletic infrastructure development.
Part of the athletic facilities are repaired under the Employment Roadmap. Tolkyn sports center is under scheduled maintenance now. The building’s rooftop has been overhauled. Soccer fields are refreshed in Astana Arena along with locker rooms and entrances maintenance.
A project related to Kazakhstan Sports Palace is now under concurrence. The project’s name is ‘Modernization of Kazakhstan Sports Palace in Nur-Sultan using smart technology and its further operation.’
Total jobs created under the Employment Roadmap 2020 state program is 15 thousand.
In Kazanat racecourse, works are in progress on construction and operation of an equine therapy complex for special children .The center’s projected capacity is 250 people. The venue will also have 600 seats. The project is implemented under public-private partnership initiated by a private donor.
A track-and-field complex is ready for commissioning. It will be an indoor facility for athletic disciplines in full compliance with IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) requirements. The facility will provide a state-of-the-art training base for athletes preparing for international contests, including world championships and summer Olympics.
Four fitness and wellness centers are built in residential areas: Iliinka, Koktal 2, Ondiris and Zheleznodorozhniy.
Additionally, over 30 large athletic venues are operational in Nur-Sultan including 18 public centers and 12 private ones.
