New recreation facilities: 8 thousand square meters refit in Nur-Sultan
Landscaping of courtyards and public spaces is almost complete. Altay Kulginov, mayor of Nur-Sultan, wrote that on his Instagram account, the official website of akimat reports.
"Eight thousand square meters were converted into recreation areas for citizens. Under-bridge space (Sarayshik Ave.) was divided into five zones: basketball courts, children's playgrounds, work-out zones, dancing area with a stage, yoga spaces, etc. A catering point is open.
Murals of famous athletes decorate the walls to encourage children to engage in various sports.
In addition, we gentrify the adjacent areas. A new pier is in place for citizens to enjoy riverboat tours; swings have been installed, and a large football field was arranged. We also plan to build a concrete skate park.
In the future, there will be a green area, a multipurpose amphitheater, shades, etc.
Construction works are in progress near the Gumilyov ENU bridge, where another under-bridge recreation space will be arranged. In total, this year we will improve 150 courtyards and more than 50 public spaces (parks, squares, boulevards). Most of the work has already been completed. We are preparing activity lists for the next year.
The country's leadership pays special attention to creating environment encouraging popular sports. The quarantine made it obvious how important it is to support the immune system, work out and walk outdoors," Altay Kulginov wrote.
