Metropolitan female handball team retains national championship
Athletes of Astana handball club have been national leaders for two subsequent years, the official website of the mayor's office reports.
Astana handball club's female team has retained its leadership at country level. The capital's athletes won their second victory at the Kazakhstan handball championship.
According to the Department of Fitness and Sports of Nur-Sultan, this year's national championship was finalized based on previously earned scores due to the pandemic. The results were rated for six teams based on ten games results of the 28th championship.
Astana handball club won the championship with 20 scores edging Kaisar-Kam-KGU from Qyzylorda with 15 scores and Kazygurt from Shymkent with 13 scores.
Six handball clubs participated in the competition: Astana HC (Nur-Sultan), Kaisar-Kam-KGU HC (Qyzylorda), Kazygurt HC (Shymkent), Dostyk HC (Almaty), Altay HC (East Kazakhstan), and Turan HC (Turkestan region).
