As first day of September, the number of existing legal entities in Astana amounted to 42 534 units. According to the official website of capital akimat with reference to the committee on statistics, compared to the corresponding period last year, their number increased by 4,213 subjects, or 10%.

Of the active legal entities, 98.2 per cent are small, 1.1 per cent medium and 0.7 per cent large. According to specific gravity, their number were distributed in the city districts in the following order: Almaty – 27,7%, Saryarka – 26.2 percent, Esil – 23,1.

The largest number of active legal entities is concentrated in the areas of trade – 28.1%, construction – 19.0%, provision of other services – 10.6%, professional, scientific and technical activities – 7.6%, industrial sector – 5.3%, activities in the field of administrative and support services – 5.2%.

The main part of the existing legal entities-92.4% is registered in the form of business partnerships. The share of public, religious associations and foundations is 3% of existing legal entities, institutions – 1.4%, consumer cooperatives – 1.2%, associations of legal entities – 0.7%, state enterprises – 0.6%, joint – stock companies – 0.5%, production cooperatives-0.1%, other organizational and legal forms of non – profit organizations-0.1%.

Among the heads of active legal entities, the proportion of men is 69.5% and women 30.5%. At the beginning of the year, their proportions were as follows: men – 70,3%, women – 29,7%. The main types of economic activities of legal entities in which the leaders are women: education – 60.4%; health and social services – 50.9%; accommodation and food services – 43.5%; financial and insurance activities – 40.9%; real estate transactions – 37%; professional, scientific and technical activities – 36.8%. In total, in August 2018, the statistical business register was replenished with legal entities that have passed the initial registration by 654 entities.

However, the number of liquidated entities for the corresponding period – 98.
