Visually impaired cyclists, who traveled almost 5 thousand km, were honored in the akimat of the capital
Six visually impaired and blind cyclists left Astana in early August and completed their bike ride in the heart of Paris – at the Eiffel tower. According to the official website of capital akimat, today the participants of such a long and difficult bike tour were received and congratulated in Astana akimat.
Astana has been implementing the «City of strong people» program for several years, which is designed to support such initiatives, and the akimat assured that this initiative will be continued further. In turn, the team captain of the Cycling marathon Bakhtiyar Bazarbekov thanked the akimat for the support in the organization of this event.
«On behalf of the team, I would like to thank you for your support in the organizational and financial plan of our Cycling marathon. Indeed, it inspired us, and allowed us to dream big and set ambitious goals», - said B. Bazarbekov.
Strong-minded athletes do not intend to stop there. They will have an exciting adventure through the sacred places of the country, a trip to Japan and China. Also, the mayor's office of the capital invited the team to present Astana at the forum of the silk road cities, to which the cyclists gladly gave their consent.
We remind that the unique Bicycle marathon from Astana to Paris called «Blind Race Astana-Paris», held within the framework of the project» Sport without borders», started on August 4. Athletes have been on the road for more than a month and have overcome during this time almost five thousand kilometers, finishing at the Eiffel tower on September 8.
