The purpose of the campaign is to provide material and other assistance to students from low – income, large families, orphans and children left without parental care during the preparation for the beginning of the school year, as well as to prevent children from attending schools for social reasons.

Following the campaign, assisted 7 524 Metropolitan children totaling 152 961, 000. Of these, 6 439 students received assistance from sponsorship funds in the amount of 109 409 200 tenge. It should be noted that for 11 years of the campaign in Astana, more than 63 thousand children received assistance. 

Within the framework of the «Road to school» campaign, school fairs were organized on the Central square for the sale of forms, stationery with a discount of up to 10-50%. More than 40 thousand people visited the fairs. The event was attended by large garment factories «Fortuna», «Kazlegprom-Almaty», «Sens Fashion», Karaganda Shoe factory and more than 30 entrepreneurs and producers of Astana, Karaganda, Petropavlovsk, Shymkent and Temirtau.

This year «Road to school «was actively supported by state bodies,» Nur Otan «party, mosques, military units, second-tier banks,» Beeline « company, individual entrepreneurs, volunteers and public funds. The event included the awarding of especially active patrons of arts and the launch of a new campaign «Good deeds» dedicated to the implementation of socially significant programs.

«Road to school» is held annually on the initiative of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in pursuance of the President's instructions on ensuring full attendance of students from August 1 to September 30.
