Masks, giving a good mood
Exhibition of Korean traditional masks used in folk dance and theater performances opened at the national museum of Kazakhstan.
«Unlike the masks of other Nations, depicting gods or animals with a frightening expression or a grin, Korean masks reflect the character, mood, feelings of people and in a humorous way show the life of ordinary people», - the national museum worker said.
Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Of the Republic of Korea to Kazakhstan Kim Dae-Sik focused on the features of this exhibition.
«You will learn about the Korean culture of traditional masks and their production. These masks are made in order to give a good mood, to Express their warm attitude to the person. There are no masks of animals or other living creatures, and there are funny masks of the human face. Koreans in various masks are required to participate in special cultural events», - Kim Dae – Sik said.
The exhibition presents 61 types of traditional Korean masks. The exhibition will last until December 23.
