Residents and guests of the capital will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the results of archaeological excavations carried out in the vicinity of Astana.
On Thursday, November 29, in the gallery of modern art of the triumphal arch "Mangilik El" will be a presentation of the thematic exhibition "Sacred worlds of the past and the present of Astana". The purpose of the exhibition – to highlight the results of archaeological research mounds located in the vicinity of the capital. Excavations were carried out in the field season of 2018, the city Department of culture and sports reported.
"The Central place in the exposition is occupied by two silver earrings found in the male burial of The kuygenzhar burial ground. Earrings date back to VIII-IX centuries and are the most important source of information about his time. In a man's suit they showed the military status", - it is told in the message.
Earrings of the so-called Saltov type allow to determine the scale of Turkic expansion in the era of formation of the first Turkic Khaganate. Coupled with a stacked belt, earrings have become an integral part of the costume of Turkic warriors in the space from Mongolia to Eastern Europe.
The aim of the exhibition is to show the evolution of this decoration in the history of the great steppe from the bronze age to the ethnographic modernity, to trace the nuances in the symbolism of these items of jewelry.
The exhibition will run until December 12.
