Shavkat Ismailov:"Great silk road contributed to the development of international trade and intercultural dialogue"
According to the official website of capital akimat, Chairman of the public Association "Kyrgyzstan – Astana" Shavkat Ismailov expressed his opinion about the program article of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev "Seven faces of the great steppe".
– I will focus on one side, which is covered in this article – on the great silk road, which contributed to the development of international trade and intercultural dialogue.
Historically, Kazakhstan is located between East and West and caravans passed through the Kazakh steppes. Cultural exchange often took place at the sites of the great silk road.
Now we are implementing the project "Conversations on the Silk road". The project was created on the initiative of Murat Mukhtarovich Auezov, he has been leading it for many years. Our Kyrgyz ethno-cultural center supports this initiative. We help to organize events and take direct part in them.
As part of the "Conversation" we in Kyrgyzstan on the street Mukhtar Auezov installed a plaque. Our President received Murat Mukhtarovich Auezov and held a number of round tables. There was also a film on "Manas" Mukhtar Auezov. This film was included in the University curriculum on Manas studies.
I believe that the format of "Talks on the Silk road" has great potential in strengthening the intercultural dialogue of the Central Asian countries. The project has already gone beyond Central Asia, it is attended by scientists and public figures from China, Europe and the Middle East. The geography of the project is expanding, and in this context it can become a great dialogue platform for the interaction of cultures.
