This year, a 25-meter green beauty was installed on the territory of the EXPO-2017 exhibition. Astana akim Bakhyt Sultanov took part in the lighting ceremony.

"Dear residents and guests of our capital, I want to congratulate you on the coming New year! The peculiarity of this ceremony will be that in different parts of the city 12 trees will be lit at the same time. The lighting of the main Christmas tree is a tradition laid by the main Builder, Creator of this city Nursultan Nazarbayev. Today, on his behalf, we want to create a good mood for you on the eve of the New year!", – congratulated the residents of Astana akim Bakhyt Sultanov.

More than 200 snowflakes, 1200 colored balls and 4000 meters of garlands were used to decorate the Christmas tree.

The lighting ceremony was accompanied by a concert program with the participation of Kazakh artists. In addition, for the small audience in the exhibition area of the EXPO worked with animators and puppets.

In addition to the ceremony of lighting the Christmas tree, residents of the capital were able to see the fireworks.

Recall that in the capital launched a single interactive entertainment platform with a wide range of services for winter and family leisure #AstanaWinterland.

In general, 45 fir trees are installed in the city. Also 12 thematic platforms, 32 ice skating rinks, 36 ice slides are created.

In total, more than 400 events will be organized in winter, including sports tournaments, fairs of national dishes, master classes in figure skating, fun starts, "hockey in valenki", new year's parties, the festival "Shyrsha fest" and others.
