According to the official website of capital akimat, Astana hosted the children's Christmas tree on behalf of the President of the country.

Children aged 9-13, pupils of the orphanage, SOS children's village, children under care and patronage were invited to the Christmas tree.

"Dear children, all of us – adults and children – look forward to the most amazing holiday - New year. You, the young generation of Kazakhstan, are our future. Today, the children of our large and friendly country gathered at the Christmas trees. In the past year, you studied hard, achieved success in sports competitions, won various competitions, quizzes. Each of you has been striving hard for new, even higher heights", - the Head of state said, congratulating the children on their first victories.

He also noted how important it is today to be inquisitive and hardworking, lead a healthy lifestyle, learn foreign languages, do not forget about the support of teachers, mentors and relatives.

"These holidays we become children again, and each of us lives in anticipation of the new year's fairy tale and miracle. Dear children, let all your desires and dreams for the New year come true", - Nursultan Nazarbayev wished the children.

For children and invited guests, a theatrical show was organized, in which more than 40 creative teams of the capital's palaces of schoolchildren demonstrated their brightest and most colorful rooms, giving everyone a festive mood.

Also, as part of the celebration, a concert program, viewing of the exhibition of robotics and fine arts and new year gifts in the form of gift certificates on behalf of the President were organized for the invited children.
