More education opportunities for children with special needs in Nur-Sultan
This year, 12 schools will be built, 26 educational facilities will be repaired, and inclusive classes will open in Nur-Sultan. Altai Kulginov, the capital's mayor, made the relevant announcement at an online meeting in August.
"While last year, the coverage of inclusive education was 80%, in the current academic year, we plan to increase this figure to 100%. Two inclusion support classrooms 30 seats each will open on the premises of two new schools by September 1 based on the initiative of the Foundation of the First President - Yelbasy. In July, the Asyl Miras office was launched, where internationally certified specialists will apply unique techniques in their work. In September, we also intend to open special school No. 3 for 100 children with intellectual disabilities; this fall we will inaugurate a kindergarten for children with visual disabilities," mayor Kulginov reported.
In the new academic year, eight extracurricular education facilities and two more community centers will open at the capital's schools. In addition, social facilities are being launched on the ground floors of new residential complexes: mini-centers for children, rehabilitation centers, kindergartens, and medical institutions, etc.
Generally, the number of constructed schools will double this year against 2019, which is 12 new schools, and the same number will be built in 2021. These measures will significantly increase the capacity. In addition, 26 educational facilities (schools, day-cares, colleges) will be repaired this year.
