Mayor of Nur-Sultan awards tuition grants to 861 graduates
This year, the capital's akimat allocated 1.5 times more grants for the education of children from low-income families. Altay Kulginov, mayor of Nur-Sultan, informed his Instagram followers about that, the official website of the mayor's office reports.
"Choosing a profession is an important and responsible step in every student's life. This year, the mayor's office allocated 861 grants for undergraduate and graduate education. Almost 300 grants have been awarded for medical residency training, while 485 grants have been allocated for teaching majors.
The number of scholarships for children from low-income families increased by 1.5 times. These funds are allocated to children with special needs, orphans, and those from low-income families. The high-school graduates enrolled in such courses as IT, dentistry, general medicine, social work, engineering, electronics and energy, teaching, foreign language, transport services and logistics, law, tourism, etc. Such assistance will be a substantial support in obtaining degrees.
In addition, the state annually allocates thousands of tuition grants; students may also obtain degrees abroad under the Bolashak program administered by Yelbasy. However, one should bear in mind that only daily work and learning can bring success. All professions are equally important. The key is hard work.
In his Address to the People, the President identified education as one of the critical areas. Every year, we build kindergartens, schools, medical centers and other essential facilities in the city to ensure comfortable environment for learning and receiving various services. We create new jobs too.
Let me congratulate high-school graduates - now undergraduate students - on a successful start in their adult life! I wish you health, happiness and success!" - wrote Altay Kulginov.
