Nur-Sultan mayor meets with members of the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve
Altay Kulginov, mayor of Nur-Sultan, discussed the capital's development with young people in open mic format. He wrote that on his Instagram page, the official website of the city hall reports.
"Approaches in urbanism and urban planning, further scaling of public spaces and issues of city transformation were discussed with the HiPos of the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve. Younger generation already has impressive experience and independent vision. For many of them, enrollment in the personnel reserve established by the initiative of Head of State has become a kind of social elevator. Eight HiPos were hired by the akimat for various positions. They have shown good performance.
Such meetings are a great platform for sharing ideas and obtaining feedback from the public. For instance, the reserve members also noted the importance of taking systemic measures to improve the environment. Gasification of the capital is a far-sighted decision of Yelbasy to improve the environment and living standards of the citizens. Gasification of households and conversion of thermal power plants to gas will make the air significantly cleaner. Now, we see smog in the city. The gasification process is staged into several years, during which the city will gradually transition from coal.
Another pollution factor is the increasing number of vehicles. To reduce emissions into ambient air, we are adding electric buses to the public transport fleet. Since the beginning of this year, 100 electric have been serving the routes with zero emissions to the environment. Another batch will be delivered by the end of this year, and we will continue these efforts.
In addition, large-scale landscaping of the capital will help to improve the environment. We will hold more similar meetings with HiPos in open mic format in future," Altay Kulginov wrote.
