Chips in a hurry at the assistance: how the electronic passport is «distributed» to the dogs
Early in the morning, the capital's veterinarians «Astana vetservice» go to the private sector of the city, home, in search of dogs and cats that need rabies vaccinations, and most importantly, to register the animal and give the owner a passport, and absolutely free. Correspondents of the official website of the capital akimat made the company to veterinarians and saw how «our younger brothers» are given electronic passports.
Electronic passport for a dog the size of a small rice grain. Since the beginning of the year, a pilot project on chipping dogs and cats has been launched in the capital. According to head of the veterinary Department of MSE on PVC «Astana vetservis» Erlan Sakibaev, chipping it is first necessary to identify the animal and record-keeping. In addition, this makes it easier to find a lost animal.
«Chipping is an electronic passport, it is implanted into the body of the animal, and it is with him throughout life. It's like an electronic passport. The advantage is that if the animal is lost, by scanning we find him», – says Yerlan Sakibaev.
The head of the veterinary Department said that since the launch of the project, the chips got almost 1600 dogs. On the day the veterinarians could get around to about 20 houses and to introduce the chips 40 tailed. The work is not easy – we were convinced of this during a joint tour of the private sector of the Baikonur district, where dogs are most often kept on a leash to protect the territory.
