Foreigners will judge Kazakh kuresi
On August 26, Astana will host the Asian championship in Kazakh national wrestling Kazak kuresi. Foreign judges will come to judge the championship. In total, 16 sports referees will work at the championship.
Judges come from Georgia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Lithuania and Ukraine. There will also be judges of Kazakhstan with international certification. In particular, three arbitrators were invited from Astana, Almaty and Semey.
According to the judge of the international level Maksat Akhmetbekov, eight domestic judges will work at the Asian championship.
«I am sure that the competition will be as fair as possible. Qualification of arbitrators at a high level. We selected judges who worked at» Kazakhstan Barysy», at the championship of Kazakhstan and at big tournaments. We hold master classes for foreign judges», - he said.
80 athletes from 20 countries of the world will take part in competitions on the Kazakh national wrestling (Kazakh kuresi). Competitions will be held in eight weight categories, as well as the absolute weight category.
To date, such countries as Japan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Iran, Pakistan and India are preparing their strongest athletes to participate in the Asian championship.
National team head coach on Kazak kuresi Erlan Estek spoke about the preparation of Kazakhstan's wrestlers.
«On the championship of Asia wrestlers in nine weight categories will participate. From 12 to 24 August, they began preparations for the collection in Burabay district in the sports complex «Zhaksy». On August 25, Astana will host the procedure of weighing wrestlers. In the 26th the competition will begin. Training wrestlers is very good. The first stage was held in Shymkent, and the second stage in Georgia, the third stage is just beginning», he said.
The Asian championship is held with the support of the Ministry of culture and sports, akimat of Astana, JSC «Samruk Kazyna», Eurasian group ERG. The organizers of this event were the «international Federation of Kazakh kuresi».
The national heritage of the Kazakh people, included in the list of intangible heritage of UNESCO, among other things, includes the national sport – wrestling Kazakh kuresi. Last year, the international Federation of Kazakh kuresi was created. Every year there are numerous competitions in this sport. In particular, at the end of last year, the world championship in Kazakh kuresi was held with the participation of 40 countries and more than 160 athletes.
